Background:

Heaven is from Redding, CA, and will be the first in her family to obtain a bachelor's degree. Heaven got into mentorship to support other first-generation and first-time-first-year students, and knows firsthand how overwhelming college can be. She hopes to be a role model and leader who looks out for students who may not have anyone to support them at home with college, and to make students feel at home at Sonoma State.

Favorite thing about being a FAST Peer Mentor:

Heaven has been with the FAST program for one year. Her favorite thing about the program is building connections in the classroom with and between her students, especially when those connections last outside the classroom.

Future Goals:

Heaven is currently planning on going into social work and working with foster youth.
