Major: Early Childhood Education (Pre-credential)

Position: Administrative, Peer Mentor

Background: Christa is 19 years old and attends Sonoma State University. She is originally from Riverside, which is 2 hours southeast of LA. Throughout her high school years, she was a teacher’s assistant during her junior and senior years. She was also in AVID (Advanced Via Individual Development) and the Arlington High School Peer Mentorship Program. 

Favorite thing about being a FAST Peer Mentor: Christa’s favorite part about being a peer mentor is being able to help first-year students gain confidence in themselves, the same way she was helped in her FLC class.

Future Goals: After Christa graduates,  she plans to become an Elementary School Teacher. Then after a few years, go back to school to get her Master's Degree.
